  Nice food, staff and beers. Personally I'd like to see more IPA options but that is just my preference. The food was very well cooked and presented. My brisket was soft and juicy with exception of some of the edges.

  In reply to Greg Brown’s comments. Greg, on occasion and when hosting live music we do have balustrading, velvet rope and sometimes red carpet at the entrance. The reason we do this is for crowd control, to keep within licensing regulations and it also assists local police protecting all of us. It is not uncommon on some evenings for Herd Bar to reach licensing capacity by 9pm, thus leaving a queue at the door. Herd Bar is located within the basement of the entire building 177-179, at least half of the internal floor space is not visible from the outside. Herd’s venue, owners and staff are certainly by no means “pretentious” at all, you only need to read all reviews on Face book, Trip advisor or ask any local and you would discover that your comments are simply not true.
  At Herd Bar, our policy is that every single person that enters and leaves the venue must be greeted, acknowledged and given service, if you feel that on your visit that this was not the case, then I would have a preferred that you contacted me directly to discuss your experience or concerns, rather than post such negative and untruthful comments as you have done. I do expect that all quests entering Herd Bar do conform, conform to respecting the venue, staff and all quests, if not, you are asked to leave. I am sorry that on this occasion your experience of us wasn’t pleasurable as those before you.

  Was recommended by locals whilst passing through Healesville. Bang on, never had such a great welcome, fantastic service. We really enjoyed the burgers and local beers.
